Over the years, Grace Theological College has matured from a denominational seminary, into an ecumenical private religious research institution of higher learning.
Students are encouraged to create and build their own blueprints for their programs of study via Independent concentrations.
As such, they view the complexity of their research by searching for answers that not only make sense to them and members of the academy, but as ordained clergy, for the greater good of Creation. They are invested in bringing the spirit of Sacred Activism theory to the realities Social Justice practice.

As a private, religious college, our pedagogy is research based and tailored for aspiring religious leaders, scholars, and laity seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in ministry service and social justice leadership.

Students tailor our concentrations into their discerned ministries. To date, we have students serving in the following leadership positions:
Non-Denominational Pastor, Interfaith Chaplain, Author, Christian Minister, Interfaith Eco-Conservationist, Multi-faith Thanatologist, Community Chaplain, Christian Counselor, Church Administrator, Religious Educator, and Interfaith Animal Rights Advocate. One tiny mustard seed of faith, planted in our nourishing and supportive soil, has grown many sturdy branches.

ABD PROGRAM
ABD students at Grace Theological College are encouraged to create and build their own blueprints for their programs of study within the concentrations of Ministry, Counseling, Theology, Education, Administration, Music, Fine Arts, Media Communications, and Social Work. The completion of the dissertation process should have solved the complexity of the Doctoral Candidate's research questions by providing answers that transforms their theory into practice.
EXAMPLE FRAMEWORKS FOR A RELIGION-BASED ABD
at GRACE THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE:
MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS:
• Religion, Tech, and Digital Culture: Exploring how religious communities use artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and digital media, pulling from Religious Studies, Computer Science, and Modern Culture and Media studies
COUNSELING:
• Neurotheology (The Cognitive Science of Religion): Investigating how the human brain processes spiritual and mystical experiences, combining classes from Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and Religious Studies.
MINISTRY:
• Bioethics and Religious Law: Analyzing how different global faith traditions handle modern medical dilemmas (e.g., gene editing, end-of-life care), pulling from Public Health, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.
THEOLOGY:
• Sacred Geography and Built Environments: Studying how religious beliefs shape urban planning, architecture, and sacred spaces over time, crossing Archaeology, Urban Studies, and History of Art and Architecture.

We have a strong Coaching department headed by a Certified Learning Coach who is experienced in working with motivated, mature, busy, adult students. We will not pull or push you; after all, this is your journey. We will supportively walk beside you as you complete your Doctorate and celebrate your remarkable accomplishment.
